My Parents are back! This time for a nice three week visit in the middle of the summer. We started off with a fashion market in Zlute Lazne in Prague. There was plenty of hot weather and interesting fashion accessories but not so many people looking to shop. It wasn't the most successful of markets but it was great to see Evelina reunited with her grand parents.
We spent a lot of our time improving our home for EJ. It seems like she could take off crawling any day now and our flat is far from child proof. Here we are shopping at Hornbach during one of our many trips here and Ikea.
In addition to carpet calisthenics Evelina has taken a keen interest in our food. We experimented with water first. She likes to do just about everything with water except drink it. I'm afraid this doesn't bode well for solids.
Even if she far from figuring out eating, mommy is always around in case she gets hungry. Evelina is always in the best mood after snack and a little nap.
On one of our day trips out of Prague we visited Drabske Svetnicky. This was while AJ and Marty were visiting as well. It was great to get out of the city and explore the fields and forests of Cesky Raj.
During my parents visit we had the typical July Prague Summer Fizzle Out. Temperatures dove, it stormed and we all wore trousers for a couple of days. But that didn't get our spirits down.
There were plenty of adventures with food to be had inside. Here EJ has her first taste of red beats. It took Katka and I at least 4 tries at cooking red beats enough to make them soft for Evelina. The first 3 times ended with chard black pans. Was it worth it? You decide.
Here we are with Sophie, David's five year old daughter at the play ground. This was Evelina's first visit to Zofin Island. Sophie and I have been here together many times before.
I've spent a lot of time with Dave, Sophie and Edi. Edi is Dave's son and is about a year younger than Evelina. They have been super kind to give us a ton of hand-me-downs for EJ.
I'm really looking forward to our families growing together.
Here is Evelina with her Czech Babicka.
I have to say, that overall things with Evelina are progressing nicely. She is still a decent sleeper and is more and more interested in the world around her.
